What age can I start PopStars?

PopStars Performance Program is between 7 and 17 years old. Performers are grouped together based on age.

How do I know if I'm ready?

If you’re new to Rockstars of Tomorrow, we recommend scheduling a FREE 30-minute assessment with one of our instructors. This gives us a chance to get to know you, evaluate your current skill level, and talk through your musical goals to see if PopStars is the right fit.

If you’re already a Rockstars of Tomorrow student but you haven't taken vocals, just ask for a free vocal assessment. We can outline the key skills to focus on with your instructor to help you prepare for this live performance program. No matter where you’re starting from, our team is here to help guide you toward the best next step in your musical journey.

Do I need to be in vocal lessons?
While lessons are not required for all students, they are highly encouraged. PopStars is rehearsal time, not lesson or practice time, so students are expected to learn their songs with an instructor, practice at home, and arrive prepared to rehearse with their group. With coach approval, some students may be able to learn songs independently; however, we consistently see stronger preparedness and progress from students who remain in lessons. The choice is ultimately up to you.

Where will we perform live at?

Each PopStars session concludes with multiple concerts in the Gearbox Studio at Rockstars of Tomorrow Riverside, complete with full concert tech—lights, movers, fog, and of course, blinged-out microphones.

How do I get started?
You can sign up for any of our Band Programs at the front desk, or text the front desk line to get your name on the list. We will confirm with you a week or so beforehand and you'll have the opportunity to decline if the dates won't work or if you've changed your mind. Spots are awarded in the order they are written down so it is highly encouraged to get your name down now and back out later if needed. Once we're full, you'll be put on the waiting list. Wait list names go to the top of the sign-ups when the next round opens up.

Will I outgrow PopStars, and what's next?

You can continue in PopStars as long as you want, the program is designed to grow with you. That said, as you grow in community and find friends, often the next step can be forming a Pop Pro group. This is very similar to our Rockstars Pro program, but for vocal groups. This ongoing class is designed for performers who have found their performing soul mates and it's the only class of its kind. We treat music like a sport and give you a coach to help make your group the best on the scene. Perfect things like your set list, flow, dynamics, business, original music, demos and everything else you must know to be an independent performing act. We got you!!!!
